Euroapi, SpiroChem in Joint Service Pact
Euroapi, a CMDO of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and previously spin off from Sanofi, and SpiroChem, a Basel, Switzerland-based CRO, have entered a pact to provide CRO–CDMO customized services for API chemical development for early-stage projects.

Thermo Fisher Gets OK to Manufacture RNA Products at Italian Site
Thermo Fisher Scientific has received GMP approval from the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA) allowing the company to manufacture RNA-based products at its site in Monza, Italy.
The Monza site specializes in drug-product manufacturing in prefilled syringes, cartridges, and vials. The approval of its GMP facility for RNA synthesis and lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation, plus its co-location with sterile fill–finish supports an end-to-end solution for the development of RNA-based therapies and vaccines.

Gerresheimer To Invest $88 M In Autoinjector Facility Expansion
Gerresheimer, a Düsseldorf, Germany-based manufacturer of glass and packaging products, is investing more than $88 million to expand its manufacturing operations in Peachtree City, Georgia.
Gerresheimer’s new facility will produce medical devices, in particular autoinjectors, to administer injectable drugs. Operations are expected to begin in the fall of 2024.
The existing Gerresheimer manufacturing facility in Georgia is already in the midst of an expansion, where it will support an additional 180 jobs with operations beginning in April 2024.

SDG Pharma Expands Mfg Capacity for Glass Vials
SGD Pharma, a Paris-based manufacturer of molded glass primary packaging, has opened a new siliconization operation at its Saint-Quentin Lamotte, France, plant. The new operation is suitable for all glass types in vial sizes ranging from 3 mL to 500 mL in both clear and amber glass, at a high processing capacity.

Bormioli Pharma Launches Sustainable Packaging Bottle
Bormioli Pharma, a provider of pharmaceutical packaging, and Loop Industries, a sustainable technology company, have announced the launch of a sustainable pharmaceutical packaging bottle.
The bottle is manufactured with 100% recycled virgin quality Loop polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin, which can help support pharmaceutical companies with a sustainable packaging alternative.

Alcami Acquires Pacific Pharmaceutical Services
Alcami, a Wilmington, North Carolina-based CDMO of drug products and analytical testing services, has completed its acquisition of Pacific Pharmaceutical Services (PPS), a Reno, Nevada-based provider of pharmaceutical storage and services.
PPS offers controlled storage and material-management services, clinical labeling, and support from preclinical to early clinical trials. PPS also provides clinical distribution and material management across various conditions.
In addition to the acquisition of PPS, Alcami is expanding its central North Carolina pharma storage and service footprint with the opening of a new 65,000-square-foot facility.
