Hovione Technology, a Hovione Ventures company, has partnered with H&T Presspart, a Lancashire, UK-headquartered manufacturer of components for metered dose inhalers (MDIs), to expand H&T Presspart’s portfolio of drug delivery systems in respiratory care.

Under the partnership, H&T Presspart has acquired the global rights to manufacture and commercialize a capsule-based dry powder inhaler (DPI) originated by Hovione. H&T Presspart unveiled an enhanced version of the DPI, which will be marketed as PowdAir Plus, in April 2017. PowdAir Plus is a complete unit with no metal or separate parts and was designed to withstand the mechanical stresses of frequent use. It is compatible with all capsule types in size three, and can be used with any dry powder medicines.
