AbbVie Breaks Ground on $160-M R&D Building at Site in Germany
AbbVie has broken ground on a new central research building in Ludwigshafen, Germany, by investing approximately EUR 150 million ($160 million) in its second largest R&D location worldwide.
A research and laboratory building is being built on the company’s main campus in Ludwigshafen, which now serves as a center of excellence for both research and development and pharmaceutical manufacturing and houses 2,000 employees. The new building will be home to more than 300 researchers and scientists. The research building is expected to be completed in 2027.
AbbVie says the company has invested more than EUR 250 million ($268 million) in Germany. since 2020.
