Bachem Acquires American Peptide Company
Bachem, a peptide manufacturer, has agreed to acquire American Peptide Company, Inc. (APC), based in California. The seller ILS, Inc. (Moriya, Japan), a wholly owned subsidiary of Otsuka Chemical Co., Ltd. (Osaka, Japan), and the buyer, Bachem Americas, Inc. (Torrance, California) have signed a contract to transfer all shares of APC. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
APC is a direct competitor of Bachem and provides a wide range of services from small-scale catalog peptide business and custom synthesis to large-scale manufacturing of peptides under cGMP. The company runs two sites at Sunnyvale and Vista, California, and has 86 employees.
