Celgene Makes Senior Executive Changes

Celgene Corporation has made several changes to its senior management team, effective August 1, 2014. 

Mark Alles, currently head of the company’s hematology and oncology franchise, will become president and chief operating officer. Jacqualyn Fouse, currently chief financial officer (CFO), will become president of the hematology and oncology franchise. Scott Smith, who has led the company’s inflammation and immunology (I&I) franchise since 2009, will become president of the I&I franchise and assumes an expanded role in strategic corporate initiatives. Peter Kellogg will join Celgene as executive vice president and CFO.

Kellogg will join Celgene on July 1, 2014 and become CFO, effective August 1. He will be responsible for core financial functions, including investor relations, in addition to corporate strategy, business development, and alliance management. He most recently served as CFO and executive vice president at Merck & Co, Inc. Prior to Merck, he was CFO and executive vice president of finance at Biogen Idec Inc.
