Biophytis, a Romainville, France-based biotechnology company, has formed an agreement with Patheon for the industrial scale-up manufacturing of clinical batches for macuneos, a drug candidate for the dry form of age-related macular degeneration.

As part of the agreement, Patheon will be in charge of the industrial scale-up and manufacture of macuneos clinical batches. These lots will be used by Biophytis for a Phase IIB clinical study to be launched in Europe and the US once all approvals of regulatory authorities have been obtained.
